Thanks for sharing your tried-and-true tips for keeping the wintery colds at bay. As promised, we’ve consolidated these, and added our own, to bring you a resourceful hub of community wisdom
Talitha prioritises rest and laughter with her family! Good rest allows our immune system to function optimally. When we give our bodies enough time to rest and recover, it strengthens our immune response, making us less susceptible to winter illnesses. Winter blues and seasonal affective disorder (SAD) are common during the colder months. Laughter and positive experiences release endorphins, which are natural mood-boosters that help alleviate stress and improve our overall well-being. When we’re feeling low, we find ways to boost each other up and create a happy home environment.
Sometimes we need a little extra help, and our go-to supplements include Oshun vit c, a good multi vitamin and daily pro biotics.
Diane is a strong supporter of her essential oils, always a first go-to. Did you know that eucalyptus, tea tree, and lemon, possess antimicrobial and immune-stimulating properties. Diffusing these oils or using them in a steam inhalation can help cleanse the air, support respiratory health, and fortify our immune system. Essential oils like peppermint, lavender, and rosemary can assist in relieving congestion, soothing coughs, and opening up the airways. Over and above remedial essential oils, Diane enjoys daily oils for mood enhancement and stress reduction.
Her other daily supplement is also the Oshun vitamin C, which she uses for the whole family! When the colds and flues manage to make their way into the household, Diane is a strong believer in fermented garlic, and honey & ginger tea.
